Fostering International Collaboration in Public Health: A Strategic Discussion

On July 31, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan held a significant discussion on international collaboration with Hungkuang University, Taiwan, and Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. The event took place at the Disaster Laboratory of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan and was attended by representatives from the Office of International Affairs at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, the leadership of the Faculty of Public Health, the Vice President of Hungkuang University, Taiwan, and representatives from the Faculty of Health at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.

The primary agenda of the discussion focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and community service. The institutions discussed potential partnerships that would enhance academic cooperation, facilitate student and faculty exchanges, and promote joint research projects aimed at addressing global public health challenges.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of an implementation agreement for international guest lectures, symbolizing a commitment to fostering cross-border educational initiatives. This collaboration aims to strengthen international synergy and improve the quality of graduates from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, enabling them to compete on a global scale.

Ahmad Faizal Rangkuti, the Head of the Undergraduate Public Health Program, emphasized the importance of such initiatives. He stated, “This activity is crucial as a step towards strengthening international collaboration, which is an effort to enhance the quality of the academic community at the Faculty of Public Health at UAD.”

The Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan looks forward to a productive partnership with Hungkuang University and Universiti Teknologi MARA, anticipating that this collaboration will yield significant benefits for students, faculty, and the broader community.
